The Annual GSA Summer Conference held at Reynolds Plantation July 20-July 22, 2012 was a wonderful conference which held true to its' advertised "Learning at the Lake". GSA members gathered to mingle, learn, and relax during a beautiful summer weekend. The conference began with a welcome reception which allowed for physicians, residents, anesthesiologist assistants, and family to share and socialize over fabulous food and cocktails. The next two days were filled with relevant lecture series touching on topics spanning the gamut of ultrasound guidance for invasive lines, renal failure, drug shortages, and the much appreciated and anticipated ASA Update from Dr. Jerry Cohen, ASA President.

The GAAA representation included 10 fellow members and 3 student members. We developed and staffed an informative booth that was complete with conference swag including golf balls for the Sunday tournament. The booth fee was graciously provided by the GSA to help aid in our organizational effort to increase our visibility and raise awareness of our mission. The conference attendants were overwhelming eager to offer their support and willingness to work together to promote AA positions within the Anesthesia Care Team model of anesthetic practice. The GSA business meeting provided a platform for the leadership to announce its official position of support of the GAAA.
