Welcome

Since its inception, the Georgia Academy of Anesthesiologist Assistants has become a primary resource for Georgia CAAs in areas such as continued education, current anesthesia trends and updates, legislative and political news, job openings, and student support.

We are the Georgia Academy of Anesthesiologist Assistants!

In the past there has been a communication gap among CAAs and between CAAs and physician anesthesiologists in Georgia. The GAAA will work to provide a bridge to enhance those relationships as well as to rapidly disseminate vital information to its members, just as the AAAA has done for all of its members.

Our partnership with the Georgia Society of Anesthesiologists, which began in the summer of 2013, to offer a joint GAAA/GSA membership has proven to be an exciting opportunity for all our CAA members.  GAAA has representatives on the GSA Executive Board as well as members on several GSA committees.  What began as an unprecedented step in joining a state component society of the ASA with a state component society of the AAAA continues to reap tremendous benefits for all those involved.

Provider Spotlight

Ralph F. Dapaah CAA - Gainesville, GA

Hi, my name is Ralph Dapaah and I’m currently working as a CAA with Anesthesia Associates of Gainesville at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville,Ga. I came right out of school and have been here for a little over 10 years now where I specialize in Cardiac and Obstetric Anesthesia. I currently serve on AAAA’s Board of Directors which I’m very grateful for. Being a CAA is one of the best decisions I’ve ever made and I’m very grateful and blessed to have come across this amazing profession and for the people that mentored and introduced me to it. Thank you Geogila Dangoh CAA , Dr. Todd Wheeler, and Jane Poe, I’m truly grateful to all of you.

During undergrad I worked as a Pharmacy Tech at Northside Hospital, where I worked mainly in the inpatient pharmacy and occasionally at the surgery pharmacy. One day Jane Poe RPH, one of the Pharmacists introduced me to some of the Anesthetists and Anesthesiologists, looked at me dead in the eye, and said this is where I need to be. That this profession is a better fit for me due to my high energy level and my desire for direct patient care rather than becoming a Pharmacist. I obliged and never looked back!

Ralph F. Dapaah CAA

This truly is the best profession and I’ve had the pleasure of meeting and working with some of the most amazing people and I have this profession to thank for that!
