Anesthesia Organizations

The GSA is the state component society for the American Society of Anesthesologists and is dedicated to the promotion of the specialty of Anesthesia within the state of Georgia.  The GSA and the GAAA work together to advocate for patient safety, to promote the practice of Anesthesia, and to educate providers in an effort to continually raise the standards of the practice of anesthesia.

The Georgia Academy of Anesthesiologist Assistants is a state component society of the AAAA.  The AAAA works at a national level for the advancement of the AA profession.  The AAAA mission is to promote the Anesthesia Care Team model through education and advocacy.  The 'Facts about AAs' link on the AAAA page is particularly helpful for those wishing to know more about the profession.

The ASA is the national organization devoted to the further growth and betterment of the medical practice of anesthesia.  The ASA has over 40,000 members who are dedicated to the safe practice of anesthesia around the country. It also provides extensive ongoing member education and research information through publication of several journals and at its annual meeting.  Additionally, the profession is advanced through its non-profit initiatives including the Anesthesia Patient Safety Foundation, the Anesthesia Foundation, the Anesthesia Quality Institute, and the Foundation for Anesthesia Education and Research.

This is our licensing board. As a member in good standing, you will need to submit your forms for initial licensure and also for license renewal every two years.
