The GAAA is excited to announce our first AA Day at the Capitol will take place on February 24th! This event has been organized as an opportunity to allow Georgia AAs to meet and educate our Legislators about our profession. The day will begin with a Meet & Greet Breakfast with Legislators, followed by observation of the House and Senate floor action, allow for personal meetings with your Representatives, and culminate with the presentation of a resolution to the Senate on behalf of the Georgia AAs.
With the ever-changing healthcare environment it is necessary for Georgia AAs to take an active role in educating our policymakers about the important role we play within the physician led Anesthesia Care Team. This event is the first step in placing our profession on the minds of policymakers who will affect our future in healthcare services. Our Anesthesia Care Team model has been proven the safest and most cost efficient method of providing anesthesia care services, and it is our responsibility to advocate for the continued support of this practice for the citizens of Georgia and our Veterans.
Georgia AAs have voiced the desire for a greater GAAA presence within legislative affairs, and this is the sounding off point to jump start our participation in Georgia Healthcare initiatives.
